Claudia Maria Gonzalez, Community Organising Lead at Women Acting In Today’s Society, wanted to develop her leadership skills while building confidence in her role and achieving an English qualification following her move from Spain to the UK.
She completed the Level 5 Leadership and Management Apprenticeship on 16 December 2025 and rated every part of her experience 10/10, including her professional growth, confidence development, assessor support, and overall satisfaction with t2 group.
"Achieving my English qualification alongside the Level 5 apprenticeship helped me overcome self-doubt and recognise my capability as a leader.”

WAITS
Claudia chose the apprenticeship to deepen her understanding of leadership and management, reflect on her practice, and develop the skills needed to lead with clarity and impact.
Throughout the programme, she applied her learning directly within her role, helping her strengthen the way she leads, develops, and supports her teams.
Her proudest moment was completing the apprenticeship in a second language while growing in confidence as a leader.
"The programme helped me grow not only as a leader, but also in developing and supporting my teams more effectively."
Claudia's Coach, Sharon Bellew, Senior Leadership and Management Coach, played a key role in helping her stay focused and complete the programme.
Together, they created a structured plan to help Claudia with regular progress reviews, additional support sessions, and guidance around Functional Skills English and Maths preparation.
Because English was not Claudia’s first language, support was tailored to ensure learning felt accessible and achievable throughout the programme.
Sharon shared:
"Claudia was eager to succeed from the start. Seeing her confidence grow throughout the programme and watching her achieve things she didn’t think were possible was incredibly rewarding."
The Level 5 Leadership and Management apprenticeship encourages learners to think strategically, develop confidence in leadership, and understand the wider impact they can have within an organisation.
For Claudia, the programme provided practical tools and techniques that strengthened both her leadership capability and confidence in supporting others.
Her advice to anyone considering the programme?
"Don’t wait until you feel ready. Start and grow through the process. Don’t let self-doubt or language barriers stop you."
